Cameroon Youth Assembly (CYA) is a youth-led non-governmental organization established to strengthen positive youth activism and empower young people to lead sustainable development efforts.
Founded following participation in the Summer Edition of the Youth Assembly at the United Nations in Manhattan in August 2017, CYA was born from the vision that young people should not merely participate in development conversations but lead solutions.
Today, CYA serves as a platform for leadership development, innovation, entrepreneurship, community engagement, advocacy, and youth empowerment.
What We Do
Our Intervention Areas
We work to strengthen access to learning opportunities, youth mentorship, educational advocacy, leadership development, and capacity-building initiatives that empower young people to reach their full potential.
Young people need opportunities beyond education. Through skills development, innovation programs, entrepreneurship support, mentorship, and practical empowerment initiatives, we help young people build sustainable livelihoods and unlock economic opportunities.
Climate challenges require youth leadership. We equip young people to become environmental champions through climate education, environmental awareness campaigns, sustainability initiatives, conservation efforts, and community action.
Healthy communities create stronger futures. We promote preventive healthcare awareness, health education, youth-centered health initiatives, mental wellbeing advocacy, and community-based health interventions
